Ever Wonder What a Day at Vetland Puppy Play School Looks Like?

If your puppy is bouncing off the walls, you’re not alone—Puppy Play School can help. But what actually happens during the day, and will it really make a difference?

If you’ve stepped into reception on a Wednesday or Thursday, you’ve likely heard the high-pitched “woo-hoos” and seen a blur of fluff racing around.

So what are those puppies actually getting up to all day inside Puppy Play School?

Puppy Play School: A Real Day Through a Puppy’s Eyes

Let’s follow Saskia, a whip-smart Border Collie pup, and see her full day unfold.

08:00 AM – The Grand Entrance

Nurse Cailin has been waiting for me all week—I just know it the moment I arrive. My family chats with her about my week while I pretend to stay calm.

But the second that gate opens, I’m off and ready for action. First job is finding my best mate Chip for our usual welcome lap.

We zoom around the play zone, checking everything is exactly how we left it. It’s our way of settling in and saying, “Yep, this is our place.”

09:00 AM – The Social Hour

After burning through my “I might explode” excitement, it’s time to learn. My nurses take me on a calm walk through the hospital spaces.

It used to feel a bit strange, but now it’s full of friendly faces. There are beeps, shiny floors, and lots of people happy to see me.

They gently check my teeth, touch my paws, and give tasty treats. This helps me feel safe and brave for future vet visits.

No scary moments, just pats, snacks, and quiet confidence building. I’m learning how to stay calm even in busy places.

12:00 PM – The "Toddler" Collapse

Here’s something funny—puppies are basically toddlers with fur and zoomies. After a big morning, we all suddenly run out of steam together.

I gobble my lunch as it might disappear, then flop straight down. The whole group settles into the quiet zone for a proper nap.

This isn’t just rest; it helps our brains process everything we learned. Growing bodies and busy minds need this reset to stay balanced.

02:00 PM – Splash & Sparkle

Wake-up time means it’s straight back into fun and movement. Today is the best day because it’s swim time.

I jump into the big VetLand pool and paddle like a champion. It helps my coordination while I secretly show off a little.

After that, it’s bath time to get clean and fresh again. Because let’s be honest, no one wants a soggy Border Collie in the car.

04:00 PM – The Home Stretch

There’s just enough energy left for one last play with Chip. We make the most of every second before pickup time.

When my family arrives, I’m happy, clean, and completely content. And tonight, I’ll be fast asleep the moment I get home.

Why Puppy Play School Matters

It’s more than just a “crèche”—it’s where your puppy learns to feel safe, confident, and understood in a busy world.

Our behaviourist-led program gently helps them handle the clinic environment and communicate calmly with other dogs.

Because without the right start, small habits like fear or chaos can grow into bigger struggles later. But with guidance now, your puppy can grow into a calm, confident companion you truly enjoy.

Are those bursts of energy and chaos actually your puppy asking for the right guidance?
