Meet Dr Xanthea Pierre: The Cat Whisperer

With a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Dr Xanthea Pierre followed her heart into a life of care and compassion. Her love for animals—and empathy for the people who love them—led her to veterinary medicine.

Each day, she listens closely, piecing together quiet clues from patients who can’t say what hurts or why they’re scared. Her advice to every pet parent is simple: trust your instincts—it’s always worth checking.

A Special Place for Cats

Among all her patients, cats hold an especially tender place in her heart. Feline medicine fascinates her—their mystery, their moods, their trust earned slowly but sincerely.

We have seen Xanthea demonstrate an amazing intuition with cats, understanding how to reach even the most hesitant cats, guiding them with patience and quiet reassurance.

The Heart of Her Work: Consultations

Her favourite part of each day? The consultations. The conversations. The shared stories.

She treasures meeting pets and their families at every life stage. For her, those moments—when reassurance or kindness is needed most—are what truly matter.

As the third Dr Pierre in her family—following a surgeon and a dentist—she carries the name into new territory.

Veterinary medicine is her realm, and she fills it with curiosity, compassion, and care.
We’re so grateful to have her guiding our patients and comforting their people every day.

Where She Recharges

At home, Xanthea’s world revolves around two very different cats. One is an older rescue from New Zealand—grumpy, loyal, and endlessly loved.

The other is a six-month-old whirlwind of energy and affection. Together, they fill her home with chaos, warmth, and laughter.

When she’s not in her scrubs, Xanthea finds peace in cozy, creative moments—baking, sewing, or curling up with a book. And when she’s out and about, you’ll likely find her exploring Melbourne’s food scene, coffee always in hand.
