Introducing: Kalinda

Introducing: Kalinda

Meet Nurse Kalinda:

A Passion for Pets and the Natural World

What do medieval history, palaeontology, and zoology have in common? They’re all part of Kalinda Korkman’s extraordinary journey into veterinary nursing! At VetLand Hospital & Emergency, we’re thrilled to have Kalinda on our team, blending her passion for science with her love for animals to provide exceptional care every day as our Lead Nurse.

A Journey of Curiosity and Discovery

Ever wonder how someone with degrees in medieval and renaissance history, zoology, and palaeontology found their way into a vet clinic? While exploring career options, she discovered a vet clinic near her home was hiring trainee nurses—and the rest, as they say, is history.

This role gave her the perfect opportunity to combine her fascination with science and her love for animals. Kalinda thrives on hands-on learning and meeting the pets (and their humans) who walk through our clinic every day.

Dedicated to Learning and Wildlife

Kalinda doesn’t just love animals—she’s committed to understanding and helping them thrive. While she enjoys general practice medicine, her dream is to work with wildlife and captive animals. Always eager to learn, Kalinda is known for driving our culture of continuous improvement throughout the clinic team.

Fun Facts About Kalinda

  • The Ultimate Pet “Auntie”: Kalinda loves spoiling her friends’ pets and treats every furry companion like royalty.
  • Jurassic Park in Real Life: Did you know Kalinda described a 99-million-year-old lizard trapped in amber for her honours thesis? Yes, just like the iconic scene in Jurassic Park! This amazing experience showcases her passion for science and exploration.

A Bright Future in Veterinary Care

Kalinda’s unique background, dedication, and enthusiasm make her an invaluable member of our team. Whether she’s caring for patients or dreaming of a future working with wildlife, Kalinda’s passion shines through in everything she does.

Next time you visit VetLand Hospital & Emergency, don’t forget to say hello to Kalinda. Whether you’re there for your pet or just want to hear an incredible fossil story, she’ll be happy to chat!
