Solving Cases & Caring for Exotics—Meet the Vet Who Thrives on the Unexpected!

The Vet Who Loves a Challenge

Ever wondered what it takes to diagnose a sick pet who can’t tell you what’s wrong? Dr. Hardie thrives on the detective work of figuring it out—whether it’s a cat with a mystery illness, a parrot with a poor appetite, or a snake that just isn’t quite itself.

But there’s more. While many vets focus on dogs and cats, Dr. Hardie has a special interest in exotic animals, particularly reptiles and birds. (Yes, snakes are a personal favourite—don’t judge!).

Ultimately, Hardie would love to pursue further accreditation in Unusual Pet Surgery and Medicine, as well as Small Animal Internal Medicine.

"I Just Gave Lizzie Painkillers..."

One moment that stands out in Dr. Hardie’s career? A case involving Lizzie, a patient who came in with lameness in her hindlimb.

With some pain relief and rest, Lizzie felt better in no time, and whilst this seemed like a ‘straight-forward’ case, what really stood out for Dr. Hardie was her pet parent’s overwhelming gratitude.

The bond between pets and their families is unshakable, and what might seem like the smallest interventions still make the biggest impact.

Outside of the Vet Clinic?

When Dr. Hardie isn’t diagnosing pets or working towards his career dreams, you will probably find him competing in Ultimate Frisbee!

At home, his own tiny Chihuahua, Jelly, keeps him on his toes.

With a curious mind, a love for learning, and a soft spot for the weird and wonderful, Dr. Hardie is here to make a difference—whether your pet has fur, feathers, or scales!
